Business Growth Challenge
Hollister Institute is an entrepreneurial venture that grew out of the core business, Hollister Staffing. As the work environment continues to ask more from their people, employees need to acquire a broader range of skills to achieve new levels of growth. Hollister is led by an individual who has left her mark on the Boston community and the message that she has been sharing is a critical one during this particular economic and social climate (2019/20). The first assignment was to design a series of thought leadership pillars around her guiding leadership principles. The second was inspired by the unique environment of the Pandemic (Covid-19) to understand more deeply the evolving role of leaders and how best to serve the employee base from a developmental framework during this time.
Deliverables and Results
The first assignment involved reviewing video and written materials and conducting in depth interviews with the CEO to distill key thought leadership tracks after which materials were designed and delivered on five key topics to be used in online postings and discussion. The materials referenced previous talks and events that specifically demonstrated how these topics played out in the work environment – so as to be a blend of the theoretical and the practical.
The second assignment included primary and secondary research to support a strategic approach post-Pandemic leadership and development practices, priorities, and evolving content areas. The research involved a review of key industries and markets that would be relevant coming out of the Pandemic and insight as to a new set of business challenges. The recommendations were delivered in a detailed presentation and spreadsheet that compared the results of the primary research to understand the common issues and outlier issues facing leaders in the HR field and CEO’s.
My work with Jacqueline was beyond a success. I brought her in to do some market research for me as I build out the Hollister Institute programs and wanted a listening post for pour clients needs and where gaps exist. My belief about my own company is that wellbeing is essential for all employees and it is time to put the human being first, to create what I term organizational consciousness. Jackie has a way of being that is non-threatening and engaging and she truly cares about my initiative. She cares so much that even after the project was finished, she keeps pinging me with people she wants to connect me with, and companies that she feels are craving this kind of training.
